TOTTENHAM READY FOR BUSY WEEK - BUT FIRST SWANSEA

Busy week for Tottenham but in today`s match they are top favorite clearly .

The year starts with a bang and three games for Spurs in five days, starting with a trip to Swansea in the Premier League on Tuesday. Spurs then take on West Ham in the PL at Wembley on Thursday before kicking-off FA Cup campaign against AFC Wimbledon back at Wembley on Sunday.

The Swans have turned to former Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal following the departure of Paul Clement and the team responded with a late, late win at Watford on Saturday.

Carvalhal took the Owls into the Championship play-offs in successive seasons, losing out to Hull at Wembley for a place in the Premier League in 2015-16 and in the semi-finals to Huddersfield last season.
“Carlos Carvalhal knows England and the Premier League,” said Mauricio. “It’s always a tough game and with a new manager, Swansea will have the motivation to show they can play.
“They are in a position where they need to fight, they need to take points and for us it’s the same and we’re going there to start the year in a very good way.
“It’s important to keep our mentality, energy and aggression.
“We need to arrive at Swansea with good energy and try to win the three points.”
It’s a busy start to 2018
“It will be busy but we are ready and we must be ready to compete,” added Mauricio.
“We need to understand that we need to fight and work hard to build on this momentum, take confidence in the way we’ve played in the last two games and keep going.”

Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen are very confident in New Year.
“We are looking forward first to Swansea and then West Ham. The important thing now is to keep on winning and to keep the confidence high inside our minds.`` said the Lloris. “Now we have to be ready to start again with a busy week but as I said, we’re confident and looking forward to it.”
“The league is only half-way through and we have to play for every point and every game has to be treated the same way.” said Eriksen.

Swans with new manager Carlos Carvalhal are in upbeat mood after their pulsating late victory over Watford at the weekend.
Alfie Mawson hopes the Hornets triumph can lift Carvalhal's men as they go in search of success against Spurs.
“It’s at home so we will put pressure on ourselves,” he added. “We have to show our fans that we are fighting.
Jordan Ayew: “Tottenham is a big game for us. We have to keep running and fighting and playing the Swansea way.”

Team news:
Spurs have a worry over Harry Kane, who has been ill, but Victor Wanyama is back in training. Centre-back Toby Alderweireld is a definite absentee.
Swans: Wilfried Bony and Ki Sung-Yueng are edging closer to comebacks, but Leon Britton definitely misses out with a calf problem.Kyle Naughton also misses out through suspension, meaning a possible start at right-back for Angel Rangel.
