Dallas Mavericks vs New York Knicks (96 – 100)
The Dallas Mavericks hosted the New York Knicks in a game featuring several interesting matchups and
storylines, and an all-too familiar conclusion, as Dallas battled back from a
late deficit to tie the game in the final minute, and then suffer another
agonizing defeat. However, the feature of the night for Mavs’ fans was
undoubtedly:
The Mavericks retired
former point guard Derek Harper’s No. 12 in a halftime ceremony attended by
1980s teammates Brad Davis and Rolando Blackman and former coach Dick Motta.
Phoenix Suns Oklahoma City Thunder (114 – 100)
The Phoenix Suns took advantage of
a Thunder team that seemed disinterested, jumping out to a five point lead in
the first quarter that would never be vanquished.
Surprise win!
Portland Trail Blazers San Antonio Spurs (111 – 110)
With 5.9 seconds to play in the
fourth quarter, CJ McCollum hit what would be a game-winning floater in traffic
to give the Trail Blazers a 111-110 victory in front of a sellout crowd of
19,393 Sunday night at the Moda Center.
CJ McCollum |
Los Angeles Lakers Atlanta Hawks (132 – 113)
The Lakers swiped 13 steals and
scored 26 points off turnovers en route to a 132-113 victory that snapped their
nine-game losing streak.
The most effective player of the
night was LaMarcus Aldrige with 30 points against his old club.
