It`s
matchday!
What a great week for football(soccer)
fans, how much derbies. Woooow!!!
Thursday comes with new London derby,
Tottenham will face with West Ham at Wembley.
Tottenham guys are playing some great
football and they are favorite in this match.
Moyes in West Ham working really well, team
playing much better than on the start of season and they will probably stay at
PL, but we will see.
First up though, how would
Mauricio and the squad deal with such a short time between fixtures?
“Rest,
sleep, good food, healthy drink and lot of work with videos to prepare for the
game,” he said.
West Ham were in the bottom three when they appointed
David Moyes in November. After three defeats in his first four games, he has
now guided the team to one loss in the last six a late 2-1 win over West Brom
on Tuesday took them out of the relegation zone.
“West Ham have improved a lot,” added Mauricio. “We know
this will be a tough game and first we will need to fight and deserve to win.”
Spurs have played West Ham twice already this season.
In the Premier League fixture at the London Stadium in September, they cruised
into a 3-0 lead before Serge Aurier’s red card and a late Hammers comeback saw
Spurs home 3-2.
It looked like deja-vu in the Carabao Cup at Wembley
in October as Spurs went 2-0 up in the first half only for West Ham to turn it
around after the break and win 3-2.
“It’s another big game for us, another derby and derby
matches are always important,” said Mauricio.
“We are disappointed about what happened in the
Carabao Cup and how we lost, 2-0 up in the first half and playing so well but
they turned the game around. Now it’s the Premier League and this is so important
for us.”
Moyes
was delighted with the fightback his players completed versus West Brom and is
now calling for a similar attitude at Wembley Stadium on Thursday.
“Spurs
have got a really good team,” Moyes admitted. “It will be hard work for us but
we will go there with the same spirit, same attitude and same determination
we’ve had in all our games. You never know.”

When
asked for an update on his team Moyes said: “I’m hoping Cresswell’s injury
doesn’t keep him out because we’re pretty short in both full-back areas. Until
we have got both Sam Byram and Jose Fonte back we’re a bit short defensively.
“Reece
Oxford kicked the ground in training and has sprained his ankle. He probably
might not be fit for Thursday, that’s my first thought.
“The biggest
thing is I don’t have many changes and I don’t have lots of players. I’ve got
some forward players I could change around but I don’t have many players in
other positions. I’m not carrying any more players.”
He continued:
“You can see how the Premier League is going to go between now and the end of
the season. Games are going to be won and lost on really small margins.
“I think you can see there’s a lot of tension at the
bottom of the league this season, because two defeats and you slide back in.
Two wins and you could be talking about trying to get into mid table.”
